Pregnancy Life Line holds annual fundraiser

Pregnancy Life Line (PLL) hosted its annual fundraiser banquet on April 23 at New Testament Church in Reed Springs, bringing in a remarkable attendance of over five hundred guests.

PLL is a Pregnancy Resource Center located at 19621 MO-413 in Branson West. Their purpose is to provide hope, education and needed resources to women experiencing crisis pregnancy issues. PLL’s mission is to serve men, women and children with free, compassionate care during these times. In addition to ultrasounds to confirm pregnancy viability, they provide an additional number of services such as case management, counseling and material items such as clothing and infant needs. They go on further to provide educational assistance regarding parental development, parenting and everyday life skills, continuing these support measures for up to two years after birth.

PLL not only supplies help and support to local women and families but openly welcomes those in need from other outlying regions, always trying to expand needed services and reach more women. PLL’s mission is to “Help women and men make healthy life-affirming decisions regarding pregnancy and sexual health as we walk beside them with God’s guidance. It’s who we are and how we serve.”

The clients’ journey is extensive. First, a woman thinks she’s pregnant, often becoming scared, anxious, confused and alone. She then goes through testing to confirm pregnancy and STI’s which is followed by counseling, providing her with available options, risks, support and available resources. During this process women are encouraged to visit the center weekly throughout the pregnancy.

Additional resources are provided at no cost such as gas cards for travel to/from work, assistance in obtaining employment such as interview assistance and Career Center connections.

All resources provided are tailored to each individual’s needs. Everything is done with love and compassion as many clients come from broken homes. PLL strives to help make life better for both Mom and baby. PLL recently completed a major expansion to its facility, opening a boutique that also helps to provide nourishing food, clothing, strollers and many other additional items for Mom and baby. Again, all are provided free of charge.

An open house is scheduled for the boutique for late May or early June to allow the public to see first hand what PLL provides. PLL operates with a minimal paid administrative staff operating mostly on the volunteers who donate their time and compassion to the much needed organization. Client numbers are up 40% over the last two years. Just last year alone they served 170 clients, 1,021 visits and 351 students, with 521 lives touched last year. PLL states that it’s not about numbers, “it’s about helping the person in front of us, treating them with respect and dignity by listening and caring - making a difference and changing the world one person at a time.” PLL never pressures any mom into making any particular decision, just support, always letting women know they have choices. “Because of you I met my mom!”

PLL is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit operating solely from generous donations and sponsors. All donations received go directly to support clients. Your donations make a difference. Give it to God, and He works it all out.
