Christian Action Ministries thanks the many community leaders who “took the plunge” into Lake Taneycomo last month to help raise funds for CAM’s food pantries, including the Branson hub location and the Forsyth location as well as regular mobile distribution dates.
For this year’s Plunge for Hunger, kicking things off on February 9 were Hollister Mayor Jeff Long and Hollister Area Chamber of Commerce Director John Hagey, followed by Brandei Clifton and the Silver Dollar City PR team. Rounding out the annual event on February 25 were several other individuals and groups:
Kirk Elmquist/Branson Chamber team
Bank of Missouri leadership team
BNI Branson leadership
Matthew Ramsey
Dr. Alex Williams
Dr. Brad Johnson (C of O)
Chick-fil-A leadership team
Grant Sloan
Laney Tatro (CAM)
Pastor Dave Wiant
Dr. Matt Dean/Branson Schools team
For some hugely entertaining videos of the various jumpers and their reactions to hitting the icy waters—although several said they were thankful that the outdoor temperature on both jump dates was unusually pleasant for February!—visit the Christian Action Ministries page on Facebook, where you’ll also find updates on mobile distribution dates and other upcoming events. CAM staff also thank Lilley’s Landing for being a great host for the event, Branson Premier for video coverage, and the Branson Fire Department for safety backup. We appreciate Christian Action Ministries and all they do to make sure our neighbors across Stone and Taney counties do not have to suffer from food insecurity.
