Ozarks Aglow: A new lantern attraction

New this spring at Shepherd of the Hills Springfest, Ozarks Aglow, will take center stage. This brand-new nighttime attraction will transform the historic homestead into a glowing celebration of Ozarks heritage. In its inaugural year, the self-paced night walk invites guests to journey through a landscape of breathtaking, handcrafted Chinese lantern artwork, created exclusively for Shepherd of the Hills.

 

The approximately half-mile illuminated path features massive, custom-designed lantern installations constructed using steel framework and vibrant, hand-dyed fabrics by internationally renowned lantern artisans. Each piece is uniquely designed to reflect the spirit, stories and natural beauty of Shepherd of the Hills, blending traditional lantern craftsmanship with Ozark-inspired themes.

 

Along the one-way walking route, guests will encounter countless photo opportunities, themed concessions and select live entertainment elements. Highlights include glowing lantern scenes inspired by iconic characters and imagery from The Shepherd of the Hills outdoor drama, such as The Shepherd, Little Pete, native flowers, woodland creatures and the rolling Ozark landscape, reimagined through intricate lantern artistry.

 

Ozarks Aglow offers a one-of-a-kind fusion of global craftsmanship and local storytelling, creating unforgettable moments that are both visually stunning and deeply rooted in the legacy of Shepherd of the Hills.
