On Tuesday, June 16, the Ozarker Lodge presented the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Ozarks with a check for $5,000 from its recent “Stay for A Cause” campaign, during which a percentage of sales was designated for giving to a local nonprofit organization. The Lodge hosted students and staff from the Branson campus of Boys & Girls Clubs for a special ceremony.
Appreciative boys and girls cheered as General Manager Chris Patrick presented the celebratory check to Stoney Hays of BGCO. The group then gathered around the Lodge’s creekside firepits to roast hotdogs, marshmallows and s’mores in celebration, and several also enjoyed a splash in nearby Fall Creek.
Patrick said the Lodge staff were very pleased with the results of the campaign, and plan to do another in the near future as a way to thank local nonprofits for their hard work on behalf of area families. Many organizations, including BGCO, depend on the generosity of such community donors and campaigns to be able to budget for the necessary staff and supplies for the valuable services they offer.
Also, in the planning stages at Ozarker Lodge is a career day, to familiarize students with the hospitality industry, vital to the Branson area economy and a major employer for many of the students’ parents.
