Our Stone County is throwing a free community shindig, and everyone is invited.

The community-led coalition will host the Our Stone County Community Shindig from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at New Testament Christian Church, 21016 Main St. in Reeds Spring.

The family-friendly event will bring residents together to celebrate the coalition’s work, learn about current efforts and share ideas about what comes next.

More than 500 Stone County residents participated in the coalition’s “What’s Possible?” community survey, helping guide its work around three priorities: housing, water and community gathering spaces.

During the shindig, the coalition will share updates on actions being taken in those areas and give residents an opportunity to weigh in on future efforts.

Free food, giveaways, games and kids’ activities will be available. Community and nonprofit organizations will also be on hand, giving residents an opportunity to visit and learn more about local resources.

Residents may drop in anytime between 4 and 7 p.m. and stay for a few minutes or throughout the event.
