Newly opened downtown business forced to close

Renovations in downtown Branson continue. While the streetscape improvements promise to be much better for the Main Street area, the work in the area brings about an obvious decrease in traffic to the downtown area.

While the block of Main Street from Business 65 to Commercial Street has reopened and the businesses are now welcoming a healthy stream of traffic, those in the area east of Commercial Street are now feeling the impact of the construction.

The lack of business has caused one establishment to close.

The Snack Shack, a recently opened eatery, announced that they were forced to shut their doors.

"After several meetings, we have no choice but to close temporarily," said The Snack Shack, in a recent Facebook post. "'This kind of hit after putting everything into getting renovated and open, we just had nothing extra to lean back on to get through this. We are not quitting and pray that everyone stays in prayer with us as we navigate the next steps. We will continue to fight for our neighbors and pray for success in their fight to hang on."

The Snack Shack, formerly operating as a food truck, opened at their 104 East Main Street location in late May, serving a variety of snacks and treats, including Dole Whip, waffle cones, pretzel bites, chicken strips and much more.

The post continued, "We will be back, and stronger. This is temporary."
