“Over the past several years, I have watched Alex Williams emerge as a powerful advocate for transparency, accountability and the future of Branson. His leadership on the TCED, especially his efforts to ensure public recordings of meetings, represents exactly the kind of public service our community deserves. I am proud of him for standing up for openness and for insisting that our residents have full access to how their dollars are being used.”

Howden shared that his relationship with Alex is not new and is not political convenience. “Alex and I have spent over a year discussing his future, his heart for public service, and what it means to be a young statesman in Branson. During that time, Alex committed that he would not run against me out of respect for our relationship and the work we have undertaken together for this city. When the time came for me to make the decision that was best for my family, I told him I would not be running again. Only then did he step forward. He kept his word completely and honored the integrity that has defined our conversations from the beginning.”

Howden emphasized that he sees much of his own journey in Alex. “I relate to Alex in so many ways. He is young, driven and genuinely invested in Branson’s future. I see the same spark in him that I felt when I first stepped into this role. Alex brings new energy, authenticity and a strong moral compass to the table. He will represent our city with honor.”

As he prepares to transition out of office, Howden expressed confidence in the leadership that is rising behind him. “I could not be more proud to endorse Alex Williams as the next alderman for Ward 1. Branson will be well served by his dedication, his courage and his unwavering passion for this community.”
