Man convicted in double murder

Miguel Angel Melendez Torres, 29, was found guilty on two counts of murder in the second degree, two counts of armed criminal action, and two counts of attempted robbery in the first degree.  

Torres was convicted in the double murder of Richard McMahan and Krystle Buhl on the property of a Branson eatery in 2021. According to a probable cause statement, Torres approached the two outside of the restaurant, after hours, and demanded money. An argument ensued, and McMahan and Buhl were each shot once.

Torres was convicted the second time the case went to trial, following a mistrial in January of 2026, when jurors were unable to reach a unanimous verdict.

Torres will be sentenced on October 6.
