The Branson Globe introduces you to Freedom From Hunger.
Freedom From Hunger is a community-wide endeavor to provide nonperishable food items and financial assistance to two area nonprofits to assist members of our community who suffer from food insecurity.
Held over the Independence Day weekend, Freedom From Hunger is designed to raise needed funds as well as gather nonperishable food items for Christian Action Ministries and the Salvation Army, both of which operate food pantries for our neighbors in need.
The Branson Globe challenges every area business to participate in Freedom From Hunger, as we work to help these organizations who have realized tremendous cuts in government funding this year, which translates in less food available to those in need in our community. Businesses that come into direct contact with visitors or customers are encouraged to collect cash (with a goal of at least $1 per person) and/or nonperishable food items over the holiday weekend, to be donated to the two food pantries. Businesses who do not work directly with customers or clients are encouraged to hold fundraising events and/or food drives within their own organizations, with all monies and food items collected being donated to CAM and Salvation Army.
Food insecurity is a tremendous concern in our area. In 2024, Christian Action Ministries provided nearly 500,000 meals and more than two million pounds of food to those in need in our community. This year, the need is greater than ever.
The Branson Globe urges you and your business or organization to partner with us on Freedom From Hunger, July 4-6, as we work together to help two amazing organizations provide for the needs of our community.
