Lee Greenwood, champion of our nation's vets, performs during Veterans Week


Country music great Lee Greenwood performed in Branson during Veterans Homecoming Week.

 

Greenwood, a musical legend, American patriot and champion of our nation's veterans performed at the Mickey Gilley Grand Shanghai Theater on Sunday to an excited audience.

 

Greenwood, the voice behind such unforgettable hits as IOU, Dixie Road, I Don't Mind the Thorns, and Don't Underestimate My Love for You is best known for his patriotic anthem “God Bless the USA.”

 

“God Bless the USA,” penned by Greenwood while he was riding down the road on his bus, is his signature song. Released in 1984, the song had a resurgence of popularity after the 9/11 attacks in 2001.

 

“God Bless the USA” touches the hearts of all Americans and is widely known as one of the most recognizable and popular patriotic songs.
