‘Jump for Sandra’ on April 11 to support family of beloved fitness instructor

The community is invited to join friends of Sandra Marcinkowski on Saturday, April 11, for a Zumbathon fundraising event at the Branson Community Center, honoring the life of the beloved nurse, friend, fitness instructor and all-around encourager, and providing financial support for her family during a difficult time.

Marcinkowski, who recently passed away from a sudden severe stroke, is described by friends organizing the event as “one of the most wonderful humans you could ever meet.” True to her memory, those friends want the event to be a time to “rise up and keep moving,” as they jump, dance and move, honoring her life through the dance and fitness activities she loved.

Sandra, a Hollister graduate who worked in the area for many years, continued to conduct guest classes in the area even after moving to Kansas to serve as family caregiver for aging grandparents. Her husband, Greg, is now faced with caring for their 3-year-old and providing support to their older children, while himself holding down a challenging career, and friends are encouraging those who knew Sandra to “help her family rise” above their difficult circumstances.

“Jump for Sandra” is planned for April 11 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.; please arrive early for registration, waivers and placing initial silent auction bids. Donations are also welcomed for the auction. More information is available at 417-593-1232 or at  https://www.gofundme.com/f/jump-dance-rise-for-sandra.
