Each year, the Junior Auxiliary of Taney County works hard to make the Christmas season brighter for area children.
This past holiday season the Junior Auxiliary of Taney County's Christmas Assistance program provided a Merry Christmas for 104 children, ranging in age from six months to six years. Those children are enrolled in the OACAC Head Start, Early Head Start and home-based programs.
JATC members shopped for the perfect gifts for the children. Each child received an outfit of clothing, a coat with a hood, gloves, a toy and a book.
"The children loved their gifts, and we helped make their Christmas brighter," said Bobbie Wydeen, Chair of the JATC Christmas Assistance Project.
The Junior Auxiliary of Taney County received a grant from Neighbors and Friends of Table Rock Lake, as well as a donation from Ozarks Family Vision Centre. These contributions, along with the budget provided by JATC and donations given by JATC members made the purchase of these gifts possible.
"That’s what Junior Auxiliary and this wonderful community are all about," said Wydeen.
The Junior Auxiliary of Taney County is a not-for-profit organization—a group of women united for a single cause and dedicated to helping the children of Taney County. For more information, email jatcmo@gmail.com.
