Are you ready to enjoy good camaraderie and fun while showing off your golf skills, all for a great cause? Plan to join friends of the Carter Family Hero Scholarship Fund at The Social Birdy on Sunday, September 21, for the Second Annual Birdies Fore Scholarships tournament and silent auction, starting at 5 p.m.
The Carter Family Hero Scholarship Fund helps ease the financial burden of post-high school education for children of Taney County firefighters, EMS and law enforcement officers. The foundation was started by Darin Carter, who was seriously injured in the line of duty as a deputy in Taney County, as a way to give back and thank the community for the support their family received during that time of need. In just two years, the foundation has already been able to provide several scholarships, and the family looks forward to doing even more.
Entry fee is just $100 for a four-person team; hole sponsorships are $200 plus a team. There will be prizes for various hole challenges, as well. After the tournament, stick around to join friends for the Chiefs vs. Giants kickoff, along with food and drink specials for purchase, for an entire evening of fun.
For more information or to enter or sponsor, check the event Facebook page, email CarterFamilyHero@gmail.com, or call 417-830-8610.
