Glen Campbell Tribute Day Show

What an outstanding gathering of entertainers to remember a great artist, actor, TV star, man and entertainer and to make July 13, Glen Campbell Day!

Glen Campbell was celebrated on July 13, 2025, at the Hughes Brothers Theatre in Branson to help honor his legacy and raise awareness for the Alzheimer's Association. One hundred percent of the $10,000 that was raised will be donated to this cause. The evening started with announcements from emcee, Jim Barber. Throughout the show, memories from the performers were shared and also from Jim and Marshall Howden from Branson Song of Hope.

Debby Campbell, daughter of Glen performed, shared heartfelt memories, and was the co-chair with Marshall at this fabulous gathering. Over a year in the making, they brought in several people who were very happy to participate and share memories. This night was the second being coordinated as a Celebration Show Tribute. First one was last year and sold out a 600-seat theater and tonight sold out a 1,100-seat theater.

Performers in addition to Debby Campbell, included Neal McCoy, and joining Debby, the Campbell Sisters (Jane and Sandy), Steve Campbell and the Billstown Band, Buddy Jewell, Trey Taylor, the Lennon Sisters, Barbara Fairchild by herself and a duet with her husband Roy, Dino Kartsonakis, Jim Barber, Kathy Pearman (representing the Lowe Sisters), Shane VanCamp, Matthew Boyce, and Stevie Lee Woods with Rich Watson and Devon Callahan.

Tony Orlando was unable to join in person, but he joined via video with a special tribute for Glen. Barbara Fairchild told Tony that she couldn’t fill his shoes, but she would sing the song that Tony was going to sing if she could wear his shoes. So, Tony sent over his boots from the seventies to “fill his shoes!” Barbara hobbled out on stage in Tony’s boots!

Barbara also shared the story of the friendship that she and her husband Roy had with Glen. Glen was so kind to provide them with his theatre and had his videographer team video their wedding, and Glen himself sang at their wedding—all for free.

Members of the "The Song of Hope Band," provided live music throughout the evening, consisting of Brian Duvall, Michael W. Davis, Steve Leach, Chad Cathell, Michael Hermsmeyer and Mark Pearman.

Marshall Howden announced a "few surprises." One was that not only did Branson have a Glen Campbell Day recognition, but three cities that Glen sang about did as well—the cities of Galveston, Phoenix and Wichita.

Marshall also recognized a few of the past and future Founding Families or Iconic Entertainers, for Branson shows: Randy Plummer of the Plummer Family Show, The Braschler Family, Kathy Pearman of The Lowe Sisters, Neal McCoy, and the Lennon Sisters, were recognized and presented with plaques after intermission. Braschlers Week was in 2023, the Plummer Family was in 2024, the Lowe Sisters for 2025, Neal McCoy will be recognized in 2026, and in 2027 it will be the Lennon Sisters.

Marshall shared about articles he has been writing for the Branson Globe, the Love of Branson. He was very thankful for all the sponsors, entertainers, volunteers, audience, Branson's Board of Alderman and Mayor, and mostly for all that love the entertainment of Branson. Marshall thanked the Hughes Brothers for their theater usage; he loves them dearly. You can visit the city hall to see all who have been recognized and their plaques.

Glen Campbell was born in the small community of Billstown, AR, on April 22, 1936. Glen passed away on August 8, 2017, in Nashville, TN, from complications of Alzheimer's. He was buried in his hometown in the family cemetery. He was one of twelve children. He was born and raised in humble beginnings. He started playing guitar at a young age of four, and that's where it all started. He toured with several groups during his teens and then he recorded on his first album the song that started it, "Wichita Lineman." Later he would go on to record several hits and perform with many different performers. Glen was versatile in music.

Glen would receive several awards, honors, accolades and recognition throughout his life. He has a "Star" on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Books have been written and released about him, one by daughter Debby. Daughter Ashley wrote and has performed a song that she wrote about him as well. Glen was loved by so many.

Glen had his own theatre here in Branson that opened in 1994, named The Goodtime Theatre. Glen loved Branson and helped shape its entertainment along with all the past and present stars to the entertainment status that it was and is.

The night was videoed and can be viewed on, and for future announcements at the Facebook page: Glen Campbell Day. If you would still like to donate to the Alzheimer's Association, message Marshall Howden through that page.
