Enroll now for Pool School

SUBMITTED BY TANEY COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Summertime is nearly here, which means it is time for pool school! Taney County Health Department (TCHD) is working hard to ensure that every public swimming pool in Taney County is a safe place for every guest. TCHD’s Environmental Health Division will be hosting its annual Pool School training for anyone operating or maintaining a pool. This free training is especially valuable for those managing hotel pools or other public pools.

Where: Tuesday, May 12, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., or 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

When: Club Wyndham Mountain Vista, Registration Building: 141 Champagne Blvd. Branson.

“Everyone visiting a pool deserves to have a safe and healthy time,” shares Erica Logsdon, Environmental Health Manager. “Pool School is the perfect place for facility managers to ask questions and learn what it takes to have a successful summer.”

This free course includes an overview of the following topics:

• Compliant chemical Levels

• How to prevent frequently observed violations

• Walk through pool inspection and hands-on pool testing (Bring your own test kit.)

• Water contamination procedures

This year, participants will be entered into a raffle for a new test kit and a drain cover generously provided by Branson Hot Tubs and Pools. Seating for these sessions is limited. Please call 417-334-4544, ext. 593, to pre-register. Registration will be until 4 p.m. on Monday, May 11, or until the sessions are full. Additional information can be found at taneyhealth.gov.
