The Veterans of the Ozarks Music on the Lake Concert Series has been awesome this summer, as even some very hot days turned into cooler evenings with a breeze from the lake! If you haven’t made it to a concert yet, there are a few concerts still to go, so come out and enjoy great fellowship. Bring your lawn chair, or even get up and dance, with a local line-dancing group leading the way!
The next show is planned for Saturday evening, August 23, with some great country music from the Wynn Brothers. Also, on the 23rd, the drawing will be held for the $300 gift certificate to Buffalo River Outfitters! The certificate is valid for five years and can be used on float services, rentals, or lodging, for a great family or group outing.
Remaining concerts in the seasonal series are Saturday, September 6, featuring the Kirk Brown Blues Band; and Saturday, September 20, with southern rock from Shawn Campbell’s The Band Rescue. Concerts are FREE and start at 7 p.m. at the Kimberling City Shopping Center, 11863 St. Hwy. 13.
Another opportunity to help support VOTO in their mission of assisting other veterans and meeting veteran needs, is the Wine Pairing & Dinner event planned for Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Hosted by VOTO and Kimberling City Elks #2505, it will be held at the Elks Lodge, 37 Beach Boulevard, Kimberling City. You’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and perfectly paired wines provided by Lindwedel Winery, with proceeds going to support Heartland Canines for Veterans, connecting veterans with life-changing service dogs.
Tickets for this special event are $100 per person or $700 for a table for eight, including first drink during cocktail hour, three-course meal, wine pairings and a commemorative wine glass, with favorite wines available for purchase following the tasting. Cocktail hour will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30. Contact dkmac86@gmail.com for reservations.
If you or a veteran or veteran spouse you know could use positive connections and great fellowship, be sure to check out these events, visit the Veterans of the Ozarks page on Facebook, and watch for VOTO at veterans’ events throughout the fall.
