Taney County Clerk and Election Authority Stephanie Spencer reminds voters that the 2026 General Election will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2026. On Election Day, voters must cast their ballots at their assigned polling locations.

Absentee voting locations will be closed on Election Day.

In-person absentee voting at both the Taney County Clerk's Office in Forsyth and the satellite voting location at the new Branson Police Department building will conclude on Monday, November 2, 2026.

Neither location will offer absentee voting on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3. Voters who have not yet cast their ballots must report to their assigned Election Day polling location.

Election Day voting hours

Tuesday, November 3, 2026

Polls open: 6 a.m.; polls close: 7 p.m.; Voters who are in line by 7 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Important reminder for voters returning absentee ballots by mail

Voters who have received an absentee ballot by mail are reminded that their completed ballot must be received in the Taney County Clerk's Office no later than 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, the close of polls on Election Day. Ballots must be received by the deadline, not simply postmarked by Election Day.

Voters are encouraged to return their completed ballots as soon as possible to allow sufficient time for delivery. Completed absentee ballots may also be returned directly to the Taney County Clerk's Office by the voter or an eligible relative within the second degree of consanguinity or affinity, as permitted by Missouri law. Voters should carefully follow all instructions and remember to sign their absentee ballot envelope before returning it.

Be prepared — Bring an acceptable photo ID

Missouri law requires voters to present an acceptable form of photo identification when voting.

Acceptable forms of photo ID include:

• A nonexpired Missouri driver's license

• A nonexpired Missouri nondriver identification card

• A nonexpired United States passport

• A qualifying United States military photo identification card

Certain expired IDs may also be accepted if they meet Missouri's requirements. Voters without an acceptable photo ID may still have options to cast a provisional ballot.

Review your ballot before Election Day

Taney County voters are encouraged to review their sample ballot before arriving at the polls.

The November 3 General Election ballot includes candidates for public office as well as proposed constitutional amendments and ballot measures.

Voters are encouraged to take time to read the official fair ballot language associated with each proposed measure. This information is provided to help voters understand what a YES or NO vote means for each question.

Voters can access their voter registration information, assigned polling location, and sample ballot through the Missouri Secretary of State's Voter Outreach Portal:

Every vote matters!

"Our office has worked diligently to provide secure, accessible and convenient voting opportunities throughout the absentee voting period. As we approach Election Day, I encourage every eligible Taney County voter who has not yet voted to review their ballot, know their polling location, and make a plan to vote on Tuesday, November 3.

For those who have received an absentee ballot by mail, please do not delay in returning it. Your ballot must be received in our office by 7 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted.
