Day of Prayer to be held at Missouri State Capitol

Missourians are invited to participate in the Missouri National Day of Prayer to be held on Thursday, May 7, at the State Capitol in Jefferson City. Hosted by Vanguard Marriage and Family Advocates and the National Day of Prayer Task Force, this special prayer event will be from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the Capitol Rotunda.

In addition to Jerry and Kate Angelo of Vanguard Marriage & Family Advocates, several state leaders will participate as prayer leaders, including Lieutenant Governor David Wasinger, Attorney General Catherine Hanaway and Secretary of State Denny Hoskins. Organizers are also grateful to the many local churches, pastors and other ministry partners who have been helping to organize and promote the event.

Again, this year, there continues to be an enormous need for prayer across our land, perhaps more now than ever. Churches, leaders and families from across the state, as well as legislators and other public officials, are encouraged to gather as God’s people for public prayer. Guest speakers will be focusing on the theme this year from 1 Chronicles 16:24, “Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples” (NASB).

Vanguard Marriage and Family Advocates is a faith-based nonprofit organization that partners with local community leaders and ministry partners to encourage strong marriage and family relationships.
