Residents of the Powersite community between Branson and Forsyth once again have an option for attending regular Sunday church services right in their neighborhood. Community Church of the Ozarks, located just off St. Hwy. 76 at 116 VV Highway, has been in the area for over 50 years, but circumstances led to closure of the facility for about the past seven years.
“We want to get the message out: ‘Your home church is now open,’” said Basil Plantz, who will serve the congregation as their new pastor. “We’re excited to be able to help people with their spiritual needs, and we have a great worship leader as well.”
The non-denominational services are held at 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoons. When cleaning and organizing the property, leaders also found an adjoining Prayer Garden, and are eager to develop that as a place of prayer and memories for the community.
On Sunday, December 28, there will be a special communion service followed by a fellowship meal, a great time to get acquainted or reacquainted. For more information, contact Plantz at 417-294-1082.
