The area's second annual community baby shower is set for January.
All expectant mothers and new parents (with infants six weeks of age or less) are invited to attend this special event.
OACAC Head Start is once again partnering with Christian Action Ministries, Home State Health, Revealz Ultrasound, Riley's Treasures and the Branson-Hollister Lions Club to host the community baby shower, which will be held at the Lions Club on Branson's Highway 76 East.
Mothers-to-be and new parents from both Stone and Taney County are invited to register to attend the shower, which will feature a light lunch, and important resources and information from participating agencies. Those attending will also receive groceries, courtesy of CAM, and clothes from the Clothing Closet, a free ultrasound from Revealz Ultrasound, as well as gas cards from Rapid Roberts. Each attendee will be eligible to participate in raffles for a chance at special items and donated gifts.
"Last year we were able to serve 52 families," explained Sundii Schafer of OACAC Head Start. "We distributed over $20,000 of services, supports and health and safety items to these families! This year, we plan to serve 75 families and distribute as much, if not more, in services, supports and items."
The community baby shower is set for Saturday, January 24, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Branson Hollister Lions Club, 1015 State Highway 76 East in Branson.
To register, contact Sundii Schafer at sschaefer@oacac.ac or Samantha Gardner at sgardner@oacac.ac.
