Cat Cafe celebrates with fundraising event

Mochas and Meows, Branson's Cat Cafe, recently celebrated a huge milestone.

Owned and operated by Mary Trexler and her family, Mochas and Meows opened in November of 2019.  

The Cat Cafe offers visitors a full-service coffee shop, with a large variety of hot and cold specialty drinks, coffees, smoothies and more. They tempt the taste buds with made-to-order purrinis (a sandwich of sorts on a 12-inch flour tortilla) and a variety of other treats—all served in a beautiful and clean environment. A well-stocked gift shop is the perfect place to purchase a cat-themed souvenir or gift.  And, of course, the main focus of Mochas and Meows is their cat lounge. Trexler likes to say it is a regular coffee shop—with cats.

Visitors to Mochas and Meows can visit the cat lounge, where they can watch, pet and play with dozens of free-roaming cats, most of whom are adoptable. Mochas and Meows, which primarily houses adult cats, works closely with the Branson Humane Society to find loving forever homes for the cats. All of the cats at Mochas and Meows are provided by the Branson Humane Society and adoptions are processed by the Humane Society, as well.  

For a nominal fee, guests can interact with the cats and hopefully find a new family member to adopt. A benefit to adopting a cat from Mochas and Meows—or any cat café—is that the cats are generally well socialized with other cats and have received lots of human interaction.

Trexler's main focus is finding the right homes for the cats in her care, and she does not prioritize "fast" adoptions over "right" adoptions.  

Mary and her staff at Mochas and Meows recently facilitated their 400th feline adoption since their opening. It was a proud day for Trexler and her crew, and one they celebrated by hosting a special event—a fundraiser for the Branson Humane Society. It was the "purrfect" way to commemorate such a momentous occasion.
