Casa Fuentes: Thirty years of great food and fond memories

Casa Fuentes, one of the most popular Mexican restaurants in the Branson area, is celebrating a remarkable milestone. July 12 marks 30 years in business for Casa Fuentes and owner Manuel Fuentes.

"I opened the restaurant in 1996 while I was attending SMSU," explained Fuentes. "What started as a dream during my college years has grown into a restaurant that has proudly served our community for 30 years. Although I am the sole owner, Casa Fuentes has always felt like a family business because of the incredible support from my family, our dedicated employees and the loyal customers who have become part of the Casa Fuentes family over the years. When I opened, my goal was to bring authentic Mexican flavors to the Branson area. At the time, I felt there was a lack of truly authentic Mexican cuisine in the area. I wanted to share the traditional recipes and flavors I grew up with and give people an opportunity to experience genuine Mexican food made with quality ingredients and care."

Fuentes opened Casa Fuentes on July 12, 1996, in the same location the eatery stands today.

"Being in the same location where we are today has allowed us to become part of the neighborhood and build lasting relationships with our customers, many of whom have been dining with us for generations," Fuentes noted. "I believe what sets Casa Fuentes apart is our consistency. Staying consistent for 30 years isn't easy. It takes dedication, hard work and a commitment to never lowering your standards. We've worked every day to serve the same authentic flavors, maintain the quality of our food, and provide friendly, reliable service. Our customers know they can count on the same great experience every time."

Casa Fuentes has a large variety of delicious dishes. Carne en Salsa Verde, Gringas, Bistec a la Mexicana, Tacos de Asada, and Tacos al Pastor are some of the authentic Mexican dishes that have become customer favorites over the years.

Manuel and his staff want to thank the community for their support over the past 30 years.

Said Fuentes, "We wanted to thank the community that has supported us since the beginning. To celebrate, we're offering a two for $30 special all week long, which includes two dinners and two drinks for $30. It's our way of giving back and sharing this anniversary with the customers who have made these 30 years possible."

Casa Fuentes is located at 1107 West 76 Country Boulevard in Branson. They are open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Customers may visit the restaurant website for more information or to order online for pickup, at www.casafuentes.com. Although Casa Fuentes hasn't used social media much over the years, relying largely on word of mouth as their best form of advertising, Manuel noted that he can see how much social media plays a role in connecting with customers, so you might see Casa Fuentes on social platforms soon.

Manuel is very much involved with the day-to-day operations of the restaurant. Although you may not see him in the dining room, he is often working in the kitchen, in the office, or handling everyday responsibilities that ensure the business runs smoothly.

"When I reflect on 30 years in business, I feel a deep sense of gratitude and pride," said Manuel, of the 30-year anniversary. "What started as a small idea to be able to do something for myself—now it has grown into something much bigger than I ever imagined. It hasn't always been easy; there have been challenges along the way, but those moments have only made the journey more meaningful. Now that I am much older, I enjoy seeing families come back over the years, watching children grow up, and bring their own families to dine with us is truly rewarding. It reminds me that Casa Fuentes is more than just a restaurant—it's a place where memories are made."
