Book store encourages kids to read this summer

The Friends of the Library Used Book Store, located on the lower level of the Library Center of the Ozarks, has an important goal in mind—to keep children reading this summer.

To meet this goal, the book store has initiated a new program—Books for Summer Break. Bring your child to the Friends of the Library Used Book Store.  Let him or her select 10 books from the store's Children’s Room. You'll pay only $1 for 10 books (specialty award winners excluded).

By keeping your children reading in the summer months, they will be ready when the first day of the 2026 -2027 school year arrives.

The Friends of the Library Used Book Store is run by volunteers of the Friends of the Library Center of the Ozarks, a nonprofit organization. Funds raised from book store sales are used to help with special projects or programs in the library.

The Library Center of the Ozarks Used Book Store is open Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Library Center of the Ozarks and the Used Book Store are located at 200 South 4th Street in downtown Branson.
