Birdies Fore Scholarships

The Carter Family Hero Scholarship foundation would like to thank the community for their support in the recent Birdies Fore Scholarships fundraiser, and thank The Social Birdy for their great service in hosting both the fundraiser and the fellowship afterward.

Although the evening’s weather was a bit crazy and the event had to be cut short due to rainstorms, it was a good time for those in attendance. Winning team was “The Puttas,” playing for the “In Memory of Glenn Amundsen” group, and the closest to pin challenge was won by a member of the Chappie’s Diner team.

The Carter family would like to thank all the individuals and businesses who sponsored a hole for the tournament or donated prizes and raffle items. The Foundation provides funds for scholarships for children of area first responders, one way the Carters give back to the community in appreciation of the support they received several years ago, when Darin Carter was injured in the line of duty while serving with the Taney County Sheriff’s Department.

If you missed the fundraiser or decided to sit out the rain, it’s not too late to contribute; visit the Facebook page to donate and to stay up to date on future events.
