Wonders of Wildlife extends ‘Sea of Lights’ through Jan. 31

As we usher in a new year, Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium, part of the Johnny Morris Conservation Foundation attractions (WOW), located at 500 W. Sunshine St. in Springfield, is holding onto the holidays a little longer by extending its popular Sea of Lights Enchanted Christmas through January 31.

The illuminating seasonal attraction, which made its debut in late November, transforms WOW's 350,000-square-foot aquarium into a conservational winter wonderland. The immersive experience, which has seen a record number of guests since its launch, features an illuminated journey that includes bioluminescent sea life, aurora borealis and family-friendly activities, such as exploring among the treetops aflutter with fireflies.

Sea of Lights incorporates WOW’s 1.5-million-gallon aquarium adventure, teeming with more than 35,000 fish, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and birds. Guests can get an up-close look at these underwater marvels while enjoying the merriment that Sea of Lights offers.

WOW has been voted the Best Aquarium in the U.S. for seven years by the readers of USA Today. In addition, the popular Ozarks attraction is a 2026 Good Housekeeping Travel Award recipient.
