Table Rock Quilt Guild joins Kimberling City Christmas parade for the first time, December 6

The Table Rock Quilt Guild is proud to announce its first-ever participation in the Kimberling City Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 6, 2025. Members of the guild will march wearing their own handmade quilts, transforming Main Street into a moving gallery of color, texture and tradition.

Quilting has deep roots in Ozark history, serving as both a functional craft and a treasured form of artistic expression. By appearing in this year’s parade, guild members hope to share their passion for quilting with the community and celebrate the timeless legacy of handmade textiles.

“Our quilts reflect the heart of the Ozarks,” said a guild spokesperson. “Many of us learned quilting from parents or grandparents, and participating in the parade gives us a chance to honor that heritage while bringing joy to others. We want people to feel the warmth — literally and figuratively — that quilts bring into the world.”

The Table Rock Quilt Guild is committed not only to preserving the art of quilting but also to giving back to the community. Guild members dedicate hundreds of hours each year to creating quilts for charitable organizations, including:

  • Quilts of Honor

  • Quilts of Valor

  • Comfort Quilts for members in need

  • Newborns in Need Quilts

  • Ryan’s Cases for Smiles, providing comfort pillowcases to children facing medical challenges

In addition to its charitable work, the guild invites the public to join their monthly community sew day, held on the third Tuesday of each month at the Kimberling Area Library. All skill levels are welcome, from beginners to experienced quilters, and attendees can work on personal projects or assist with charitable contributions.

The guild encourages the community to come out to the parade, enjoy the craftsmanship on display, and celebrate the spirit of giving that defines both quilting and the holiday season.
