One of the difficult parts of aging, or of caring for a parent or other elderly relative, is the decision about whether the person can, or should, continue living in their home. About 75% of seniors express the desire to stay in their home, even when they cannot fully or safely care for themselves or maintain their homes. While some seniors, particularly those without family nearby, enjoy the fellowship of a senior neighborhood or assisted living center, most prefer the familiarity of their own home, cherish their independence, and find it easier to maintain community connection when residing at home.
Doing so, however, may pose challenges to the safety and well-being of those seniors who choose to remain at home, especially if certain physical conditions or other circumstances are present. On Wednesday, March 11, join experts Nami Rhodes and Doug McClellan from Cox Health for Learning on Wednesday at Kimberling Area Library, for a valuable presentation on available services, ways to obtain those services and products, and actions to take in order to help seniors stay safe and comfortable in their homes as they age. The goal of Cox Health At Home is to provide efficiency and quality of care to maximize the health of aging seniors and help their family members have peace of mind.
This important Learning on Wednesday session will begin at 10:15 on March 11, in the Kimberling Area Library community room, 45 Kimberling Blvd. in Kimberling City. Pre-registration is not required, attendance is FREE, and coffee and light snacks will be provided. Take advantage of this opportunity to meet new friends or connect with others while learning ways to stay safe and healthy.
