As I’m reading my Bible, Selena comes in my room.

S: What are you doing, Momma?

Me: Reading my Bible. 

S: Anything interesting??

Me: Well, yes! 

S: Silent for a bit…. Well, are you going to share?

Me: Oh, well it’s about when a baby boy named John was going to be born and because the father didn’t have faith he had to remain silent until his birth. 

S: That’s a very long time. But I was asking you to share your Twizzlers!

I think the best feeling in the world is my kids telling me everything they learned in Sunday School! Jax is telling me every detail of King Nebuchadnezzar and how three men went into the fire, but four men are walking around, and he said, “Momma, that was Jesus!

Also, when I would chime in on his story he said, “I’m telling this story, not you!” 

Trinity told him our lesson was on the importance of prayer. I asked why it is important, and Selena said, “Mom, you were in her class! Don’t you remember what you taught her?!”

We were talking about melons, and after I said I hate cantaloupe, my four-year-old daughter said, “I LOVE cantaloupe. I also love Mountain Dew.” “Mountain Dew?” “Oh, I meant honeydew!”

Alisha to me: “I love whatever’s wrong with you.”

Our 5-year-old son has autism and sometimes struggles with communication, but he is no less clever! Sometimes he says so much. He even told a lie. I have been doing a bedtime routine where I lay down in bed with him until he falls asleep. Our convo: 

Liam: Mommy, go away.

Me: I'll go away but only if you promise to go to sleep.

Liam: Sleep. Promise, Mommy. 

He did not go to sleep. He almost immediately got out of bed, but it was adorable. 

The next morning…

Me: "Good morning, Liam!" 

Liam: "Good night, sleepy!"
