Local actress Chris Dexter will present an excerpt from a dramatic monologue she wrote, inspired by the Bible’s Gospel of John, at a September 10 luncheon sponsored by Christian Women’s Connection (affiliated with Stonecroft Ministries).

She will also address “The Dramatic Art of Failing Forward,” in which she parallels her own life story to that of a woman who lived in Bible times.
Becoming pregnant while a college student, Dexter decided (against all advice from others) not to end the life of her unborn daughter. This decision derailed her dreams of becoming an actress, but the experience caused her to seek a God she did not even believe existed.
Dexter holds a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Arkansas and is a retired English teacher who is currently running two small businesses.
The luncheon is nondenominational and open to the public. It begins at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10, at the Pointe Royale Clubhouse, 142 Clubhouse Dr., Branson. Call or text 417 343 1418 by September 8 to reserve a spot, $17.
