Kimberling Area Senior Center (KASC) funding changed on Oct. 1, 2026
Senior Age, based in Springfield, Missouri, has been a major supporter of KASC for more than 20 years. Starting recently, KASC moved to a grant-based funding plan.
The change is being made in part because Missouri’s Area Agencies on Aging budget was cut by 20% for the 2027 fiscal year, which began July 1, 2026, according to Senior Age.
Senior Age will no longer fully support the center. KASC will have less grant money to help provide meals to seniors age 60 and older five days a week. Center leaders are looking at how this change may affect meal service and other programs.
“The KASC Board is committed to continue offering quality programs, services and nutritious meals to seniors in the Kimberling City Area. We are optimistic that agencies in the area will step forward to assist us in this endeavor,” said Sherry Nappier, KASC President.
KASC is an important place for older adults in the Kimberling City area. It provides meals, activities and a place for people to spend time together.
The KASC Board will share more information as plans are made. Community support will be important as the center works to keep serving local seniors. Those who would like to learn more, volunteer, or support the center may contact KASC at 816-739-5242, visit 63 Kimberling Blvd., visit the Kimberling Senior Center Facebook page, website: http://www.kimberlingseniorcenter.com.
The Home Delivered Meal program will not be affected by this change.
