Kimberling Area Library to hold annual Fall Book Sale, October 10-11

The Kimberling Area Library (KAL) will hold its annual Fall Book Sale on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, October 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a special pre-sale for KALA (Kimberling Area Library Association) members only on Thursday, October 9, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be thousands of books included in the sale, including popular fiction, paperbacks, biographies, and lots of nonfiction category books. Puzzles, DVDs, and audiobooks will also be available as well as a special section of children’s items. To accompany the book sale, delicious baked treats will also be for sale.

A privately held nonprofit organization, KAL is located at 45 Kimberling Blvd., Kimberling City, and invites community members to come and support the local library in its fall sale! All year long, the library welcomes donations of all kinds of books, DVDs, children’s books, paperbacks, magazines, puzzles and games.

Encyclopedias, textbooks, and damaged books are not accepted. Volunteers regularly sort donations according to a vetting process, adding some to the library collection and saving others for the annual book sale. The library deeply appreciates donations throughout the year. Library volunteers can provide a receipt to those making donations.

The annual book and bake sale are a major KAL fundraiser. The library depends on donations, grants and optional free library memberships to provide library benefits to residents who live within 25 miles of Kimberling City and show proof of residency. The library depends on a staff of over 50 volunteers to maintain library operations for 13 weekly shifts. It seeks to promote learning in diverse ways and technologies and always welcomes volunteers to meet its mission. For more information, please see www.kalib.org or call 417-739-2828.

The library looks forward to seeing interested readers at the October 10-11, 2025, annual book and bake sale to celebrate learning, inform them of library services, and provide book sale prices on different resources for learning!
