Finley & James River Co. announces fall festival, seeks vendors

Fall is just around the corner, and Finley & James River Co. is inviting families from Crane and surrounding communities to celebrate the season with a day of fun, food and activities along the James River.

The Finley & James River Co. Fall Festival is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, from noon to 8 p.m. The event promises something for visitors of all ages, with free entry and a variety of activities planned throughout the day.

Families with children can enjoy a dedicated Kid Zone featuring a bounce house, dunk tank, face painting, hay rides, a pumpkin patch and a cake walk. The festival will also offer yard games, including cornhole, giving adults and children plenty of opportunities to enjoy some friendly competition.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the event, and organizers are encouraging guests to come hungry and ready to spend the day enjoying the festivities.

Local vendors will also be an important part of the celebration, and Finley & James River Co. is currently looking for vendors interested in participating in the Fall Festival. The event provides an opportunity for local businesses, artisans, makers and other community vendors to set up a booth, connect with area residents and showcase their products or services.

One of the unique features of the day will be the Family Float Costume Float, giving families an opportunity to dress up and enjoy a memorable trip down the James River. The costume float will leave from the Jamesville location at 10 a.m., ahead of the afternoon festival.
