Crane Police Department participates in Summer Impaired Driving Enforcement Campaign

The Crane Police Department is joining law enforcement agencies across Missouri in an effort to keep roads safer through the Summer Impaired Driving Enforcement Campaign.

According to the Crane Police Department, the campaign is taking place now through September 14, 2026, and is sponsored by the Missouri Department of Transportation. During the enforcement period, extra officers will be on duty in Crane to monitor roadways and watch for drivers who may be operating a vehicle while impaired.

The department is reminding residents that driving under the influence of alcohol or other mind-altering substances can have serious consequences—not only for the driver, but for passengers, other motorists, pedestrians and the entire community.

“Don’t Drink and Drive or use other mind altering substances,” the department stated in its announcement. “You WILL go to jail and the consequences are costly.”

The increased enforcement comes as law enforcement agencies work to prevent impaired-driving crashes and encourage motorists to make responsible decisions before getting behind the wheel.

Drivers who plan to consume alcohol or use substances that could impair their ability to drive are encouraged to make arrangements for a sober driver or find another safe way home. Taking a few minutes to make a plan can help prevent a potentially life-changing crash or arrest.

The Crane Police Department encourages everyone traveling through Crane during the campaign to remain alert, obey traffic laws and never drive while impaired.

The department’s message is simple: If you have been drinking or are otherwise impaired, do not get behind the wheel. Making the responsible choice can help protect you, your passengers and everyone else sharing the road.
