City shares reimbursement opportunity for qualifying home-based businesses

The City of Branson is notifying residents of a potential reimbursement opportunity for certain home-based business license fees following the passage of Ordinance 2026-0041 on May 26, 2026. 

The ordinance amends Chapters 22 and 94 of the Branson Municipal Code regarding “No-Impact Home-Based Businesses.” Residents who operated a home-based business between August 28, 2022, and the current date may be eligible for reimbursement of previously paid business license fees if their business qualifies as a No-Impact Home-Based Business. 

A No-Impact Home-Based Business is generally a home-based business that does not create a noticeable impact on the surrounding residential area. To qualify, the business must meet the following criteria: 

·       The total number of employees and clients on-site at one time cannot exceed the occupancy limit for the residential dwelling.

·       The business must be limited to the sale of lawful goods and services.

·       The business cannot cause a substantial increase in traffic through the residential area.

·       Business activities must occur inside the residential dwelling or in the yard of the residential dwelling.

·       The business cannot be visible from any public street.
