City of Galena accepting sealed bids for surplus 2011 Chevrolet Impala

The City of Galena, Missouri, is giving residents and interested buyers an opportunity to purchase a surplus city vehicle through a sealed-bid process.

The vehicle being offered for sale is a 2011 Chevrolet Impala with 96,825 miles. The minimum acceptable bid is $1,500. Bidding opened August 20, 2026, and sealed bids will be accepted through 4 p.m. Monday, September 14.

The vehicle is being sold “AS-IS, WHERE-IS,” with no warranties expressed or implied. Those interested in submitting a bid may arrange an inspection of the vehicle by contacting Galena City Hall. All questions regarding the vehicle and bidding process must be directed to City Hall at 417-357-6226. The city noted that questions will not be answered through Messenger.

To be considered, all bids must be at least $1,500 and include the bidder’s name, address, phone number and bid amount. Bids must be placed in a sealed envelope and delivered to Galena City Hall no later than 4 p.m. on September 14.

Bidders are asked to clearly mark the outside of the envelope with: “SEALED BID – 2011 CHEVROLET IMPALA.”

The City of Galena reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to accept the bid it determines to be in the best interest of the city. Once a bid has been accepted, the successful bidder will be notified and must provide payment in full within 24 hours. The vehicle will not be released to the successful bidder until full payment has been received.
