The Cedarcreek Fire Protection District recently had to send one of their engines for needed repairs.

The fire department announced on Sept. 10 that its 1989 E1 engine had to be sent to a mechanic for repairs on its water tank.

“Sadly our 1989 E1 engine is currently out of service and in for repairs. The water tank had to be completely removed and an age induced crack had to be welded,” stated the department on social media.

The work on the engine was completed last week, and the department is now asking for help from the public to cover the costs of the repairs. The department is still paying on the new roof they had to put on the fire station.

“The hospital has finally finished with the surgery on our engine E12. However, the bill is quite painful,” stated the department. “The surgery was the only way to put the engine back in service. Please become a donor member of the fire department. We need the help! Now we have to put it back together with all the equipment that we carry on it.”

The Cedarcreek Fire Protection District serves the rural community of Cedarcreek and surrounding unincorporated areas in eastern Taney County. It has three stations: Station 1, which serves as the Main Headquarters, located at 6981 State Highway M in Cedarcreek; Station 2, located at Dallas Road in Cedarcreek and Station 3, located at Melody Mountain Road in Cedarcreek. The department is manned by volunteers who handle structural and wildland fire suppression, rescue and emergency medical response. The department is always looking for volunteer recruits and community support to maintain full operational readiness.
