Breakfast at Tiffany’s: The fall is coming

Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof. Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: Then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice.

Psalm 96:11-12

It has been hot - very hot. Anyone who has started receiving their electric bill for the last month is cringing on how they are going to pay for it. And this month has had higher temperatures than last month. May the Lord help us all figure out how to pay these!

But God is about to bring about a change. We don’t see it yet, but we know - we know that cooler temperatures are right around the corner. The holidays are going to happen and time with family is going to come to fruition. Oh, and the scents of apple cinnamon and pumpkin spice will fill the air. Can you almost smell it? Can you just imagine feeling the cooler air?

It’s just like Christ to remind us that in the middle of the heat of life and the frustrations of just existing, He has a plan for us. He has a plan of helping, a plan of blessing, and a plan of a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

The Lord will bring those moments of refreshing to those who call on His name! These are times of hope, times of His presence, times of His comfort, times of restoration and times of rejoicing! It happens for those that seek Him with all their heart (Jeremiah 29:12-13).

The fall is coming. The break in the heat is coming. But let it remind you that the refreshing of the Lord Jesus is coming! Call out to Him and be expecting it!
