Breakfast at Tiffany’s: Let freedom ring

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1-2

From the battlefields of our country’s past to the political debates throughout the years – men and women have been fighting for the freedoms of our country. These freedoms are celebrated every Fourth of July, and this year we celebrate 250 years for our country.

These freedoms we could take for granted, if we don’t remember everything it took to achieve these freedoms. There are some now that are striving to take our freedoms away, but those of us who truly know what freedom is will continue to boldly proclaim how amazing our country is!

More so, there is a freedom that no country can give or take away. It’s the freedom we have through Jesus Christ – through his torture, the shedding of his blood, his crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection! The freedom of salvation!

What is this freedom? It is the liberty—with His power in us—to live righteously in Him. The Word of God makes it clear that true bondage is sin and the power it has over our lives. This is the bondage that the enemy uses to kill, steal and destroy lives. However, through Jesus Christ and our trust in Him for our salvation, that bondage is broken! We become new creatures in Him!

Some today want to deceive and make that freedom to mean freedom from living for the Lord. Realize that’s another plan of the enemy. True freedom in Christ is living for Him in holiness and righteousness. It’s being able to lay your head on your pillow at night and to be able to say, “All is well with my soul.” It is to know there is nothing hindering your relationship with Jesus Christ. It is being able to look up, put a smile on your face, and to know the King loves, accepts and is pleased with us!

So let this year be the year that you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and let true freedom ring in your life and heart!
