Breakfast at Tiffany’s: Do you feel unseen?

“And she called the name of the LORD that spoke unto her, Thou God seest me:…” Genesis 16:13a

There you are, always getting passed up, rejected and never really noticed. You may even find yourself in a room around colleges, family, or friends telling stories and what’s going on in their lives and as soon as you open your mouth, people show no interest or worse yet, start talking - cutting you off, like you aren’t even in the room.

What you have to remember is that you are not the oddball. What I mean is that there are millions out there that experience the same thing. The fact of being ignored, passed over and rejected every time you put yourself out there does weigh on a person.

When I was a child, I wasn’t in the popular crowd and worse than that, I was overweight. I learned how it felt to not only be the last chosen on a team, but actually overhead the last choosing captain ask the coach, “Does he even have the play?” I have been rejected and passed over many times, not only in the secular job world, but also (even recently), in a Christian ministry organization. It gets old and sometimes becomes expected.

To those that have had to experience things like this over and over, I want to remind you of something greater: God sees you! Let those three words sink in for a moment: God sees you and God knows you. You are always on His mind, He loves you, and wants an amazing relationship with you. He chooses you and His desire is that you choose Him!

Here is one amazing thought: Jesus Christ would have been tortured, shed His blood, die, be buried, and resurrected for you, even if you were the only one to ever receive Him as Lord and Savior. You are that special in His eyes.

He knows you and everything about you. And unlike the captains that didn’t even want to choose us to play on their team—this Captain—the Captain of the host of heaven—died and rose again for you and is pleading with you to choose His team! Accept the invitation and run the One that knows you! Call out His name and join His team for He sees you—and wants you!

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Romans 10:13
