Branson welcomes back Mike Nichols for one night only

One of Branson's favorite entertainers is coming home.

After years away from the Branson stage, Mike Nichols returns for a special one-night-only performance when the Auction House Jamboree comes to Grand Country Music Hall on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 7:30 p.m.

For Nichols, the evening is much more than another performance.

"This show really feels like a reunion for me," Nichols said. "I still have family there, and we made so many wonderful friends during our years in Branson. Every time I come back, it does something special to me. Branson is etched in me. It's genuinely heartwarming."

Nichols became a familiar face in Branson during more than a decade of performances, appearing alongside Moe Bandy, starring in his own Mike Nichols & Friends Show, and entertaining audiences with the blend of country music, comedy and storytelling that made him one of the Ozarks' favorite entertainers. He also headlined the Ozark Mountain Hoe-Down in Eureka Springs and spent time performing in Nashville with Ray Stevens before returning home to Clarksville, Arkansas, after more than 45 years in entertainment.

"When you've spent your whole life entertaining, you never really retire," Nichols said. "It's what you do. It's who you are."

What began as conversations with his brother about putting together a small hometown show quickly evolved into today's Auction House Jamboree. Nichols built his own theater in Clarksville, where the production now features a nine-member cast performing classic country music, southern gospel, comedy and family-friendly entertainment.

The idea of returning to Branson happened almost by accident.

"I told Mike Patrick it would be fun to play my old hometown one more time," Nichols recalled. "He said, 'Grand Jubilee is off that week. Come do a show.' Just like that, we were headed back to Branson."

Grand Country Music Hall General Manager Mike Patrick said welcoming Nichols back was an easy decision.

"Mike Nichols is one of those entertainers people simply don't forget," Patrick said. "He brought laughter and great music to thousands of Branson visitors over the years, and when he mentioned he'd like to perform here one more time, there wasn't a second thought. We're honored to welcome him back home, and I think longtime Branson fans are going to love seeing him on our stage again."

Audiences can expect an evening filled with classic country hits, southern gospel favorites, hilarious comedy and outstanding musicianship.

"It's a great family variety show," Nichols said. "We've got six tremendous vocalists, incredible harmonies and world-class musicians. Our lead guitarist toured for years with Marty Raybon, and every member of our cast is excited to make their Branson debut.
