Branson teacher named finalist for Missouri Teacher of the Year
Branson Public Schools has one of the best teachers in the state.
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education announced Branson Ag teacher Nicole Crocker is a finalist for the 2027 Missouri Teacher of the Year.
The Aug. 31 announcement of Crocker’s nomination cited her for her efforts in “real-world agricultural learning, strong mentorship and hands-on career preparation for her students.” She had been lauded for similar reasons earlier this year when she was named a semifinalist for Teacher of the Year and a Regional Teacher of the Year.
Crocker had addressed her semifinal nomination a week before her naming as a finalist in a release from Branson Public Schools.
“Being named a Missouri 2027 Teacher of the Year Semifinalist is an incredible honor, and honestly, I’m still a little in awe that this is happening,” Crocker stated. “Getting to be part of Branson Public Schools, working alongside such dedicated educators and teaching incredible students every day, makes this recognition even more meaningful.”
While humbled by the honor, Crocker couldn’t let the spotlight just fall on her.
“The support I have received from our school and community throughout this process has meant a lot to me, and I am proud to represent a community that is truly committed to learning,” she said. “I’m also grateful for the opportunity to represent agricultural education and Career and Technical Education across Missouri. More than anything, I’m honored to be part of this team, this community and this profession.”
Crocker has been with the Branson School District since 2014.
