Boys Tennis
"With only two returning varsity starters and many young JV players new to tennis, this would be a year of learning and growth for the boys’ tennis team. After losing several close duals early in the season, the boys hit their stride as the postseason approached. As the district two-seed, the boys’ clinched the program’s 4th district title with a 5-4 victory over Springfield Central. That momentum carried into the state sectional, defeating Capital City and earning themselves the program’s third final four appearance in four years. At the state final four, the boys' battled but came up short against Platte County and Westminster Christian Academy. The boys supported each other with positivity and enthusiasm throughout the season, and became the closest of friends. Looking to the future, boys tennis will return four varsity starters and expect significant varsity contributions from a talented group of underclassmen. Coaching staff and players strongly believe we can return to the state final four, with a goal of a state championship within the next two seasons. Vamos!" - Head Coach Sean Kembell
