Fryling and others have written that we can learn to view growing old as a gift from God. Logically, if you are a senior citizen and you’re still here (and you are or you wouldn’t be reading my column) then it is God’s will for you to experience old age.

Prayer is a heavy subject, so let me insert a bit of humor from Ruth Bell Graham, wife of Billy Graham: “God has not always answered my prayers. If he had, I would’ve married the wrong man – several times!”

That sounds impossible, you might say. I would agree, but we believe in the God of the impossible, don’t we? He wouldn’t ask us to do something unless He’s also willing to empower us to do it. So ask for His help.
