Mid-Town Café: Well known for great food and friendship

Mid-Town Cafe located at 22221 Main Street, Reeds Spring, Missouri, is a casual dining location that focuses primarily on breakfast and lunch, serving quality homestyle cooking.

Originally called Suzie’s Mid-Town Café, it was purchased by current owner Jeff Barnhart. Since being purchased in 2019, Barnhart has strived to continue with the well-known comfortable atmosphere as originally built up by Suzie. Barnhart stated, “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it” continuing to build on it over time.

Mid-Town Café is a modest operation with just a few tables and chairs but is a well known Stone County eating place to find great food and friendship. Barnhart stated during my time spent with him that “Whether you come in for breakfast, lunch, or just a cup of good coffee and shoot the breeze with good friends, you are always welcome here.”

The original building was constructed in 1935 and has always been some type of restaurant. Barnhart states the Mid-Town Cafe philosophy is simple: “to provide our customers with the highest quality food and service in a warm and welcoming environment. We believe that great food starts with a great morning and that it’s ALWAYS MORNING at Mid-Town Café.”

I was told that Mid-Town Cafe represents the town—not that the town represents Mid-Town Cafe. It is a remarkable place in the history of both Reeds Spring and Stone County—a veteran and first responder friendly establishment. I had an enjoyable and fulfilling morning visiting with both Jeff and his staff.
