Meal program in need of funds

Submitted to Branson Globe

As you know, during the last six weeks, the center itself has been closed to indoor activities. The center has kept up the meal service to its at-home seniors and for meal pick-up. There has been no charge for these meals and we want to try and continue this as long as possible. Therefore, funds are needed.

“It’s truly amazing how we’ve all come together even though we’re actually apart, to be safe, responsible and yet help each other as much as possible” said Joyce Theiss, representative. “Your donation can get meals to those that really need it. Our seniors are still volunteering to make and deliver these meals, and as you know, they are the most-at-risk.”

Send donations to Forsyth Senior Friendship Center, P.O. Box 248, Attn: Meals, Forsyth, MO. 65653.

Local Harvest Market a success

Submitted to Branson Globe

Opening day of the Forsyth Local Harvest Farmers Market,11048 Hwy 76 in Forsyth took place as scheduled, Saturday May 2. Everyone followed protocol with social distancing along with “shopping with their eyes and not their hands,” said Joyce Theiss, representative. “Hand sanitizing stations are set up throughout the market. We had wonderful weather, 15 vendors, and 150 shoppers attended the market, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.”

“We at the Market will always put your safety first,” she said. “We realize that some of you are not able or do not feel comfortable visiting the Market at this time. We understand this and want you to know the Market is not going anywhere and we will have lots of fresh produce, tasty baked goods, farm fresh eggs, grass fed poultry, plants and wonderful crafts for you to choose from when all this gets back to our ‘new normal.’”
